After the Nor’easter

If I am fortunate enough to have the time I like to hit the beach shortly after a big nor’easter has blown through. It gives me a chance to check out any beach damage but if I am truly honest I just like the sound of the surf. This of course is not a photograph of the surf but rather looking west to Twin Lights in Highlands NJ. I could imagine how comforting it must have been for sailors years ago to see the lighthouse after such a storm. We forget how dangerous it once was to travel buy sea. Many people died along the New Jersey Coast line. It is the reason why the Coast Guard was formed. There is a great museum at Twin Lights well worth the visit. Plan to go on a clear day as the view from the light tower is spectacular.
